Details

Continental's Grand Prix 4000 S Tubular is destined for greatness. The seamless casing makes it easy to glue the tire to the rim, and this race-worthy tire has all the suppleness and incredible road feel you expect from a handmade German tubular. This sew-up also boasts Continental's Black Chili compound and Vectran Breaker Belt, so you get increased puncture protection as well as superior traction and handling.

Vectran Breaker is a synthetic fiber modeled after spider silk. Processed into a multi-strand thread, it's light, flexible, and protects against cuts, without increasing rollling resistance.

Continental's Black Chili rubber compound improves every ride through the use of microscopic carbon nanoparticles to increase traction, decrease rolling resistance, and extend the life of your tires.

Tubular tires are compatible with tubular rims and are installed with glue or a special adhesive tape. Tubular tires will not work on clincher rims (the standard rim type). If you have any questions about compatibility or mounting, please contact us for details.
